I’ve Got My Eye on These Books

Black Friday is always somewhat exciting for me, but it gets even worse when 150 indie books go on sale for under $1 at the same time. *wonders if my budget will make it out alive* *wonders if I want it to make it out alive*

Not only are there a ton of my favorites available (like Sarah Holman’s Tales of Taelis series or The Kitten Files series by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick), but there’s also many more I’ve been meaning to try out sometime. (And then there are old favorites in paperback. Do I really need another copy of Gift from the Storm just because it’s only $7.20?)

Oh, and I already went to the Christian bookstore today and bought a couple things for myself and a couple others as gifts. *sheepish smile*

But I still let myself dream and budget, and here’s what I’m most interested in right now…

hesmakingdiamonds.jpg

He’s Making Diamonds by S.G. Willoughby has me curious and hopeful. My family has been through the wringer in the health area this year, and this sweet gal’s book looks like it might speak right to us. πŸ˜‰ Also, it’s in paperback and those are just lovely.

I haven’t even read Twinepathy (the first book in this series) yet, and Lightporter by C.B. Cook is tempting me. Maybe it’s because I’ve loved books by her in the past or it’s that I’m sure I’ll love Twinepathy and I want this on hand when I need it. πŸ˜‰ It looks super fun. πŸ˜€

Ooooo, pretty cover! Also, The Worth of a King is a fantasy by Kendra Ardnek, and it’s a good price for how hefty it is, and… someone send help. (I need a book shopping intervention. πŸ˜› )

And last but not least, When Beauty Blooms by Victoria Lynn because it’s historical, sweet-looking, and I love this author’s stuff.

What book sales are driving you happily crazy right now? πŸ˜€ Do you prefer to visit stores or shop online?

Oh, and apparently there’s a blog tour with the HUGEST giveaway I’ve ever seen going on over at Ruffles and Grace, so…

  1. I seriously just bought so many indie author books! Plus, I discovered a lot more on Kindle Unlimited (of which Amazon gave me a three-month subscription to!). I’m so excited! My kindle should come soon and I probably won’t get any sleep, reading so much. XD (And that giveaway IS huge, oh my galumphing GOODNESS!)

    1. Woohoo! Aw, that’s awesome. I’ve been debating whether or not to get Kindle Unlimited, so let me know what you think of it. YAAAAAAAAYYY!!! You’re gonna love it. πŸ˜‰ Isn’t it?? It’s crazy.

      1. I already had a month of it, and I loved it. I think it’s fabulous! There are positively TONS of books and for $10 a month, that’s practically stealing all of them… πŸ˜‰

  2. Aw, if you get it I hope you like it! πŸ˜€ I’m sorry you guys have had to go through those kinds of things. 😦 The price decrease for the paperback is… not updating on Amazon as quickly as I’d hoped. But I set it to yesterday, and hopefully it will register soon! #FirstTimeAuthorProblems XD

  3. Whoa, thanks so much for the heads up on the sale! I just bought over ten books (actually, a lot of them we’re free😊) including your very own Kiera and Remember the Poodle Skirt. I love Black Friday!

  4. You too? I’m the one that needs that intervention! I’ll admit it — my budget is totally blown. And it’s just day one!!! But the delicious packages (the only adjective i know to describe them!) that will end up on my porch, filled with freshly printed books…..totally worth it. I think.

Who am I kidding? I KNOW it’s was worth it! πŸ˜€

I’ve already purchased quite a few books, simply because they’re a good price. They make good gifts. They are pretty on a shelf. They seem interesting. I *need* to read them…..and my excuses go on =) I DID purchase October, which I’ve had on my tbr list since the five fall favourites party, so it is now moved to my “need to read” list. I’m pretty excited about that one!

      1. Yes! I want to go to the library and get some Christmas books, but I still have books on my kindle to read, and books we own to read. . . . Hmm, but I think I’ll get to the library before long. πŸ˜‰

  5. Book buying is so much fun!! But yeah, the budget, LOL! πŸ˜€ I had so much fun downloading all the free ebooks, and I bought at least one book I’d been looking forward to buying for a long time. And I’ve been buying other books for Christmas. Let’s hope I can restrain myself from buying any more! πŸ˜€

I’m so glad you were able to pick up those awesome books you’d been looking forward to! I’ve read He’s Making Diamonds and When Beauty Blooms, and I’m excited for you to read them!

And I’m so sorry to hear the health issues have been rough this year for you and your family. (I suspected you might have been through that even though you don’t usually mention it.) Hugs. ❀ My family may not have the same health issues as yours, but we have a ton of our own, and it's been a rough few years – so I get it as well as may be. Praying for you! He's Making Diamonds is wonderful, and I hope it does speak to you.

    1. Isn’t it?!! I just told my sister that I’d already bought enough books this month, but when it’s December I have another one I have to get. XD That’s so great! Which book was it?

I haven’t gotten He’s Making Diamonds yet, but yes, I’m very excited about it! Thank you so much, Mary! That’s very encouraging, and I love knowing that this book has spoken to you.

      1. Yes!!! I had so much fun going on a book-buying spree with my birthday money this summer! And then reading the books I’d wanted for ages. πŸ™‚ I just bought another favorite from Amazon this week, for Christmas. From the sale, I finally bought a signed paperback of Bound by Victoria Lynn. I’ve loved it since the alpha blog serial, so it’s about time I had it on my shelf! So that’s special. πŸ™‚

That’s great! Awww, you’re welcome. :))) It’s an encouraging read, and God definitely used it to speak to me. I hope the same is true for you!
