I’ve Been Tagged and Tagged Again

Hey, y’all! Today I thought I might catch up on some of the lovely tags you all have given me. 😉

Tag rules (and I actually have five of these tags, so this is a LONG post):

Acknowledge the blog that nominated you for the award
Answer the questions they gave you
Give 11 fun facts about yourself
Nominate 11 other bloggers for the award
Give them 11 questions to answer

The first person who tagged me for the Liebster Award this year was Anna P. Thanks so much for tagging me, Anna! (You should definitely check out her answers, and her story about dancing to the weather channel music as a kid was adorable. ❤ )

What is your goal in blogging?
I blog to help other readers find good books to read by sharing what I’ve been reading. I blog to talk about my projects and my books. And I blog to share what the Lord has been showing me. 😉

Other than blogging, what are some of your favorite hobbies?
Reading. XD That’s a big one. I also like to garden, sew, and knit.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Psalm 27. ❤ The whole thing is amazing, but the last two verses are really my favorite. 😉 Trusting God has been an important ongoing lesson in my life.

What has God been teaching you lately?
God has been teaching me to turn to Him for solutions instead of my own best ideas or other people’s opinions.

If you could choose a “word of the year” what would it be?
I think “surrender” would be a great word–and not in a defeated way, either. Yeilding to what God wants me to do and who He wants me to be is ultimately a victory.

What is your absolute favorite book? (Just pick one…if it’s possible!)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!! No. *hides* This is the worst question. *cries* I have a Goodreads shelf of 68 books I’d consider favorites, so I’m just gonna have to go with a recent favorite. Ember Falls by S.D. Smith was an amazing sequel! Totally lived up to the first book–maybe surpassed it. 😀

When did you start blogging? What inspired you to start a blog?
I started this blog two years ago now, but I blogged on a more lifestyle blog with my older sisters for a few years before that. When I became serious about being an author, I wanted a site where I could completely nerd out about books so I started this one. 😉 I’ve always loved blogging, so I’m blessed to be able to continue doing it! 😉

What is your favorite part about blogging?
I love formulating my thoughts then sharing them with readers and discovering kinship between us. ❤

The next blogger who so kindly tagged me was Rosy! Thank you, Rosy, and I definitely enjoyed reading your post, and that was totally hilarious how your autocorrect wanted it to be “The Lobster Award”. XD

What’s the craziest thing you have done when you were little?
One day, we were all playing in the backyard, and I went inside for a minute. Mom had bought us pudding cups as a surprise, and she asked me if I wanted to dress up as a clown and serve them in our little town game. We did my hair in a poofy style, put the pudding cups on a tray, and she drew red circles on my cheeks with a lipstick. It was really fun. 😉

What is the last song that was stuck in your head?
“King of Love” by I Am They. I love how it takes the words to a familiar Psalm and reveals the beautiful meaning in them. It’s also reeeeaaallly catchy. 😉

Which do you prefer- white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate?
Well, chocolate is chocolate, so I won’t refuse any of those, but milk chocolate and white chocolate are my favorites. 😉

What are three of your main goals in life?
Love God. 2. Show His love to others. 3. Write books that bring people closer to Him.

When did you start blogging, and what inspired you to do it?
I answered this question higher up, but I will say that I love that everyone’s asking it.

What are some of your favorite hymns?
My top three are Blessed Assurance, It Is Well, and Be Thou My Vision. And I love many others. ❤

Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I would like to be an early bird, but that doesn’t always happen. 😉

If you could give any advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Smile at people even if you don’t want to talk to them. When you have a problem, don’t make up a solution–run to God.

What’s the first word you can think of that starts with R?
RV, but that’s probably cheating. How about “research”? 😀

What’s your favorite Bible verse, and why?
Again, Psalm 27. ❤

Do you like coffee?
No, not really. I’ll drink it if I’m really exhausted, but I don’t love how it tastes.

Laura tagged me as well! Thank you, Laura! 😉 (Check out this fellow thriftstore shopper’s post. 😉 )

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?
Answered five Liebster Awards in one day. I took two semesters of college which including talking to other students and the professors sometimes in class, making presentations, writing papers, and getting assignments in on time without going crazy. It might not sound like a big deal, but it was a big deal for me. 😉

Do you prefer ice coffee or hot, or do you not like coffee at all?
No coffee. If I must have it… 50% milk, 30% chocolate, 40% sugar, and 30% coffee–all cold, please.

What is your favorite holiday?
I LOVE Christmas and Easter, and the first day of autumn is always a happy one for me. 😉

What is one of your most special talents?
Umm… I can taco roll my tongue.

What is your favorite book?
Do you see what this question did to me earlier??? *cries harder*

What is one of the earliest childhood memories you have?
I have a few that are brought to mind by pictures, but one I remember on my own was running my little brother inside so he wouldn’t get stung by wasps. #ThroneWarden

Do you prefer cake or ice-cream?

How many books have you read this summer?
So far, since June 21st, I’ve read fifteen.

Cats or dogs?
Doggies. ❤

If you could have any exotic pet…*Any kind guys*, which would you choose?
Oh, wow. I have never considered the possibilities. Maybe a winged horse?

What is the best summer vacation you have ever gone on?
One summer we had a staycation where we had a five-day long family summer camp at our house. It was brilliant fun!!

Do you like snakes? Would you hold one?

What genre of music do you like?
Most of what I listen to is Christian music, but within that my favorite genres are folk rock and Irish. 😉 I also love some movie soundtracks!

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? (or don’t you like ice cream?)
Cookies and cream ice cream is the BEST. Since I’ve gone gluten-free though, that’s not really an option. But I will figure out how to make an amazing alternative someday. 😉

How long have you been blogging?
Maybe six years? Two years total on this blog. 😉

Summer or winter?
Winter. I live in AZ.

Inside or outside?
Inside. (See above)

Do you prefer to read or write?
It’s really a toss-up between the two. Both lend themselves very well to discovery. 😉

What’s the longest (or closest to longest, if you can’t remember) book you’ve ever read?
If collections count, it was a collection of all the Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories. If not, it was probably one of the Keeper of the Lost Cities books by Shannon Messenger.

Historical fiction or fantasy?

Watermelon or cantaloupe?

Cloudy or sunny?
Cloudy! ❤ ❤ ❤

And last, but not least, Amanda Joy tagged me! Thank you! 😉 (And she’s really cool because she prefers ice cream over cake too.)

What is your favorite breakfast food?
Oooo. Deviled eggs!

Can you juggle?
Heheheheh… I am a certified klutz.

If you could be a character in one of your favorite books, who would it be?
Lucy Pevensie! ❤

Someone who can paint a picture in their reader’s mind and evoke empathy toward their characters.

How many times do you laugh a day?
Hmm… I should count sometime.

Have you ever danced in the rain?
Nope, I usually just walk happily along. 😉

What is one thing about Jesus that blows you away every time?
That He LOVES ME! And has covered me with His perfect righteousness. And wants me to be like Him.

Would you rather sing or speak in front of a large crowd of people?
Sing, if there’s a piano to hold on to.

‘Why is a raven like a writing desk?’
Edgar Allen Poe used both?

Favorite season of the year?
Autumn! ❤

Are you excited for what God has next in your life?!?
I’m learning to be. 😉

So, there you are! Thanks so much for tagging me, y’all! Since that post was already very long, I won’t be doing the eleven random facts or tagging anyone, but if you’d like to answer any of these questions go ahead! I’d love to see your answers. 😉

  1. Wow! Answering all of them at once? Way to go! 😉 And taco rolling my tongue is really easy for me, so it’s kinda strange thinking that some people can’t. But then I try and wink and…. well let’s just say I spent literally hours as a child to wink with my right eye closed and I have never gotten close. (I can with the other eye, though.)
So yay that you can roll your tongue – can you wink with both eyes? 😉

Definitely, for sure, by far, historical fiction.

    Watermelon or cantaloupe?
