Book Review: Choices for Max

34514868“Max loves baseball. He always has. And the last gift from his dad before his parents died was a baseball of his own. Now, living in the city with his aunt and sister, his greatest wish is to see the man he was named after, a professional baseball player. But which choice will make his wish come true?
Help Max in his choices and decide on your favorite ending.” (from Goodreads)

This was such a fun, summer-y story by Rebekah Morris! I loved the close relationship between Max and his sister, and I liked all of their relatives even Aunt Kate. (I have a feeling she has something of a sad backstory.) πŸ˜‰ All the summer-y, small town things like the baseball game, icecream, and the movie theater sounded adorable. I especially enjoyed the “choose your own ending” format. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book like that so it was a ton of fun. πŸ˜‰

Best quote: Max didn’t so much as bother to answer or even look over his shoulder. His eyes were on his ball. β€œNo!” he moaned to himself. β€œNot the creek!”

Altogether, I enjoyed this short story, and I can’t wait to share it with my younger siblings! πŸ˜‰

  1. A CHOOSE-YOUR-OWN ADVENTURE BY A CHRISTIAN AUTHOR???? Me, please! It sounds so good! My younger siblings like the choose-your-own adventures, but most of the ones they get at the library are pretty weird. πŸ˜› *bookmarks this post*
